Our History
United Community Federal Credit Union (UCFCU) is a community-focused, federally insured credit union headquartered in West Mifflin, Pennsylvania. Since opening our doors in 1951, we have operated with one guiding mission: people helping people. As a member‐owned financial cooperative, we are committed to delivering personalized, trustworthy, and accessible financial services that put the needs of our members and our communities first.
UCFCU began with the General Motors Auto Workers more than 75 years ago, and our history has been shaped and strengthened by those who joined us along the way. Through the years, employee groups from Westinghouse Air Brake, Pennsylvania Transformer, Duquesne Light, and other organizations became part of our growing membership. With the approval of our Community Charter in 2006, we proudly expanded our service to individuals and families across our region—continuing the legacy built by generations of loyal members. Many have been part of our credit union for over 60 years, with some exceeding 70 years of membership, sharing their positive experiences with friends and family and helping us grow through the decades.
Today, UCFCU offers a full suite of financial products, including Savings and Checking Accounts, credit cards, competitive loans (auto, home equity, and personal), and convenient Digital Banking services such as our Mobile App, Online Banking, Zelle, and Bill Pay. We serve our members locally through our main office in West Mifflin at 6010 Mountain View Drive, as well as our branches in Washington, PA (331 S. Main Street) and Wilmerding, PA (201 Airbrake Avenue)—making in-person banking and lending services accessible across our area.
Our strength lies in being local. As part of the communities we serve, we make decisions quickly, provide fair rates, and treat every member like a neighbor, not a number. At UCFCU, you’re not just banking—you’re owning a piece of a long-standing community tradition.
